Minnesota Homestead

In 2001, the opera singers Placido Domingo and Frederica von Strade, among others gave a benefit concert for the disease FOP on February 2nd in New York City. The concert was held at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel. One of the Metropolitan Opera singers has a young child named Sophia who has FOP and the concert was in honor of her. The main researcher Dr. Kaplan was there along with four people with FOP. Ivana Trump was also in attendance. $80,000 was raised for FOP research. There was a brief segment on the NBC-TV show EXTRA about the concert. I was invited to display my artwork in New York along with two other artists with FOP, including one from Minnesota and one from New Jersey. I sent out eight watercolors including the watercolor at the top of the page and two prints. One of my paintings of monarch butterflies was sold to a company called Monarch PR.
The two watercolors below were in the spring art show at the Sister Kenny Institute in Minneapolis , Minnesota for disabled artists in April 2000. I have displayed my artwork in the annual art show every year since 1976.
