Scratchboards are another medium that I enjoy doing. Scratchboard is a special clayboard coated with India ink. I use an ex-acto knife to scratch off the black showing the white underneath. A small brush is used to add watercolor to the scratched areas. I alternate between paintings and scratching using a magnifier light to do the detail work.
