One of the many reasons I especially enjoy painting butterflies is when I was a teenager I was taking close up photos of daisies when a butterfly landed in my field of view and I snapped the picture. I still remember that butterfly, a Millbert's Tortoise Shell. It was the first butterfly that I painted. I had my nephew's Matt and Nathan chasing butterflies for a collection, which I still have. I believe butterflies signify beauty and symetry around us along with showing me the strength and courage to get through the rough times in life. The Monarch butterfly painting below shows me the circle of life and that there is constant adapting to life.
